The Mr. Money Mustache website is a blog that is meant to help people save money and to make it easier for you to optimize your time and money. He goes and breaks down how we can change our every-day lives just a little bit to save big money overtime. I would recommend this website to any college student because we are trying to save money so we can go out and still be ourselves even though we do not have a lot of money.
The one post I read of his was “How to Fix a Car” in this post he talked about how he went about fixing his wheel bearings. First he heard a noise from his car and googled what it could be then listened to the possibilities until he found one that matched the sound of his. He then looked up how much it would cost to take it to the shop which was $400-$500. So he decided to do it himself. He looked up the part and saw that the part was only $70 so he went and got the part then went onto google and found a step by step tutorial of how to replace it and put it back together. So instead of spend a lot of money he only spent $70 and a couples hours of his time to make his car run smooth again. This is practice fore all of us because we all can do this to our own cars even if we have never done it before like he did.

| These are the rear wheel bearing that he had to buy and replace himself. Very easy to put on and saves a lot of money when you do it yourself. |
Mr Money Mustache also has a very unique voice/personality in the sense that he does not try to sound very formal he just says it how it is and uses curse words to prove a point. It is like he is actually talking to you if you knew him and asked him a question. This allows us to connect with him even more because today we curse a lot when we talk and we try to make it as fast as possible without using big words, and that is exactly what he does. With this straight to the point attitude it allows us to go straight to the post and instantly know what the problem is and then what his solution is to save money.
I also enjoy how his voice is in his blogs. It sounds like he is across the table from you just having a conversation with you. He is personable and his personality flows out throughout his blogs.
ReplyDeleteI agree he is very personable. I like the way he does things. Like you said with the fixing his own car, most people cannot do this anymore themselves, and end up wasting more money repairing it. Certain sets of skills are important to have to save money.
