It showed you guys knew your topic really well. I could tell you guys had a lot of information but most likely were not able to use it all. I had not known about Johnston before your presentation so all this was new to me and it was interesting to learn about. One thing you guys could improve on was being louder it was hard to hear both of you throughout the presentation.
ReplyDeleteGreat job guys, I learned so much great information! One thing I thought you did really well was your transitions between each influential explanation of the Jonestown massacre. At the start of each slide you would say “the first way, the second way, the third way” and I thought that made your presentation really organized and easy to follow. I also thought it was really well thought out that you the Massacre to
ReplyDelete9/11 because it shows the warning signs for both events and how the US really did neglected those reports. It makes us all wonder if these events could’ve been avoided if the US would’ve gotten involved earlier and stopped the events before they began. One thing I think you guys could have done better is you both took pauses between speaking a lot and for me that made it hard to stay focused and follow the presentation at times. Otherwise it was a great project!
Your presentation was full of information! You guys explained everything in full and I could definitely tell that you knew what you were talking about. It was tough to follow some of the information just because there was so much. I did not know anything about the massacre before you gave your presentation so it was cool to hear everything about it. I would work on fluctuating your voices along with speaking a little louder, but overall good presentation
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a very informative presentation, it was full of information and facts that were very important for the readers. I think your presentation was very thorough and covered a lot of ground. The only criticism I would have would be that the presentation of the information could have been a little more engaging. The content was a little dry at some points. Other than that I thought you had a very well done presentation.
ReplyDeleteYou guys had a good presentation in and present a lot of information about Jim Jones and his followers. I think you picked an interesting topic and I found it very interesting to learn about. I would have liked to hear a little more about the background of the cult however and what caused Jones and his followers to commit mass suicide. You guys both spoke clearly which was good and helped me focus on what you were saying but you both presented a lot before switching, maybe in the future you could break up the talking so there is a shorter time between the switches.
ReplyDeleteI personally have never heard of this event taking place so it was very interesting to learn everything that happened in your presentation. I especially did not know that this was the largest massacre in the United States until 9/11 happened. I think the best part of your presentation was that quickly went over some of the basic information about cults and their activities while still keeping it focused on this specific cult as well. I would have liked to learn more about cults in today's age and how they effect society.
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of this event before this presentation and you guy did a good job explaining it. There was a lot of good information which was good but at times it was also hard to follow since there was so much information. Great job though guys.

A lot of facts were presented in a chronological order. the thing i found most interesting was that Jim Jones got people to give him all their money and follow him. One criticism I would have is that the information was not presented in an engaging way.
ReplyDeleteThe topic was absolutely bone chilling. Personally, to imagine something like that every happened is unbelievable. I really learned that the old saying, "Absolute Power corrupts Absolutely" has a lot of truth. I liked hearing about the events as they happened in chronological order. It certainly made the event seem truly iconic. One criticism that I have is that the presentation sounded dull. The whole presentation was monotone and somewhat emotionless. Maybe you could work on your expressions and the tone of your voices when presenting. Good job guys.
ReplyDeleteYou guys had a lot of information, showing you knew what you were talking about. I have not heard much about this event, so it was interesting to learn more about it. Some the the facts you guys had were pretty hard to imagine that something like this happened. Since you guys had so much information, at some points it was almost overloading. Overall it was a great presentation.
